Incense tears come from the resin of incense tree. It is the incense in its pure state, is obtained from the resin of trees native to northeast Africa and Arabia. Traditionally used for religious rites, currently used to perfume rooms.

The mysterious incense is used for many thousands of years, the incense tree has perhaps the greatest association with spiritual practice of any plant on earth. The incense tree, or Olibanum, at first glance, it may seem irrelevant. It appears as a giant shrub, with many knurled branches topped with abundant slender leaves and occasionally, small white flowers. A native of North Africa, looks like it belongs in the desert, growing in some of the harshest conditions in the world. But not the tree itself, but the sap that has such profound tradition surrounding it. When the bark is pierced with a knife is traditionally known as Mingaf, an oleoresin is exuded by the trunk if the tree is damaged. The resin forms known as tears droplets or beads which harden in the cortex, and same known as incense. It immunostimulant, balsamic (mucolytic, expectorant) and spasmolytic. In topical use acts as healing, antiseptic. The resin is rubefacient. Indicated in cases of flu, colds, bronchitis, emphysema, asthma. In topical use is indicated in cases of thrush, periodontal disease, wounds and skin ulcers, the resin in osteoarticular inflammation, myalgia, muscle spasms and boils. Enters into the composition of certain plasters, ointments and balms. It is most frequently used in perfumery and as a freshener.
Do not ingest. Use to scent and harmonize numerous environments. Use as poultices, salves or liniments.
